What does life have in store for you?
How willing are you to go beyond the ordinary? Live your own ideology!
What if life has something else planed for you? That part of you keeps knocking on your attention. Follow this path.
Matthew- Nomadic Matt – triggers something within me. The way he puts his words and stresses some parts of the books more than others become great highlights during the reading. How he had to sort of convince himself to dare. Planning was a big part of letting go of his former life and picturing the life he could life. Being an introvert was a problem, but the dreams of leaving life behind was stronger.

Life itself, your soul, your physic, want to communicate with you on honest terms. Listen to what might come.
The author did not like the way he lived at home. Everything felt meaningless, no goals, always the same, the same, the same. Such boredom. Something had to change. That can not be done when always walking in the same shoes. It had to be out there, out in the world. A need for bigger emotions, bigger influences, bigger realizations.
Pretty quickly Matthew realized and learned that he was not that coward and nerd on the road as he was at home, where people knew him. He had carried that “title” of being a nerd and coward for too long. Those at home used to know the old version of Matthew. His honesty in telling his story is truly genuine. Sharing highs and lows, feeling lost, and yet feeling at home while travelling. Feeling a constant need to live his life. It was about him, and about his life. He made it out in the world. Being introvert, feeling awkward in various situation. He did it, took the big step. I smile knowing he did it.

Who are you when you leave your home with your suitcase or backpack? How aware are you that your mind changes?
Matthew lets us know how he noticed a big difference in his personality when he decided to live life in a new way, a way that suited him better.
Do it. Go for it. Embrace. Empower.
“The decision to blow up your life as you know it is often met by people around you in a few different ways.” (Page 39)
Why do people interfere with others’ lives so much, honestly? Jealousy, cowardness, scaredy cats? I would not like it if someone dictated what I was supposed to do. Becoming should be a leading word for when living, and for this topic; travelling. Why do people so often push others to study? Living is studying life. As a conclusion, that I read some time ago, academical studying is the most expensive book club for mutual admiration. Funny, right?!
Just thinking of wasting another hour turning into a day, which turns into a week, and a month has passed by in an instance. Does that feeling stress you out? Than there is more for you to accomplish. Leave life behind and grab that part which is waiting for you.
Expand your way of thinking before you see the world. Plans will change along the way, sometimes for the better and great experience will make your trip more unexpected, sometimes not as so good. Be prepared for all situations arising.
Let us be part of the situation we are in, and live here and now. Matthew shares the importance and the greatness travelling is to our minds and hearts. Being scared is normal, being enthusiastic, bored, spirited and nervous about an upcoming trip are all parts of a trip. How we deal with that is not always up to us. It is worth the try to see what we end up learning about the world and ourselves.
Having travelled a lot myself, I know that I change before, during and after my travels and this due to various reasons. The more I travel, the more I want to explore the world. Mainly with my husband and our two girls. I hope more people would take the opportunity to leave normal routines and see what is around the corner; visit a new lake, walk a different path in the forest, be more curious about life itself. I am for sure curious. Traveling is such an important part of life to me and I realize that I see lots of me in Matthew. But he took a different choice when he was younger than I did. Now is now and now will never come back, so make sure that your now will be a great now.
I feel young at heart, I feel motivated to dare, just like Matthew does. But, at the same time, I know that we are not the same all of us. Do grab this book and let yourself be swept away and start planning your next upcoming trip. It is easy to stay at home, but by closing the door behind you, you are one step closer to a new adventure.
Do it. Live it. Experience it.
Traveling is better because all research says that that fulfils our minds in a better lasting way than material things do. Try to keep that in mind. It will have a long-lasting impact.
“But, when you are on the road, you hang with all types of people. Tour desire to make friends trumps everything. You don’t know peoples´ history or past. You don’t know what ´group´ they fall into. You don’t care because it doesn’t matter. A friend is a friend.” (Page 91)
You will never be the same again. That should be the motivational factor that pulls you away. Life is just in front of you, behind you, but, most importantly, it is here today.
Coming back from a trip can be the best thing ever. Nothing is like home, but to some it puts a nervous feeling in the body. There is so much more to be smelled, tasted, felt, heard, sensed and seen. Follow that inner stronger voice. Because you will regret not doing it.
Life is unpredictable and we have to be aware of this and that is a bit of the charm. Those who think they have it all figured out, will most likely be more disappointed than those who did not.
CONCLUSION;
Spontaneity ought to be taught in life and be part of life. Try it. You might feel free. Chances are that you will be so excited to get away and see more, that is is the intention.

Three questions and reflections
1. Imagine talking to this author, what would you ask him?
2. Investing in travel journals gives energy, which genre of traveling would you pick?
3. Imagine you are five years older, what do you wish you would have done?
